Vehicle Inlets (Charging Sockets)

Vehicle-side charging inlets with integrated temperature sensing, optional electronic lock and actuator feedback.

  • Standards: Type 2 · CCS1 · CCS2 · GB/T · NACS
  • AC power: Up to 22 kW
  • DC power: Up to 350 kW
  • Sensing: Integrated temperature
  • Locking: Mechanical · electronic option
  • Ingress rating: IP45 unmated / IP55 mated

Key benefits

Temperature-dependent charge current

Charging current follows measured contact temperature, so the vehicle can charge faster in cold conditions and safely back off in hot ones.

Lock state reported, not assumed

The electronic lock variant reports open, closed and fault states to the vehicle, which matters for ISO 15118 plug-and-charge and for fleetDiagnostics.

One interface family across markets

Type 2, CCS1, CCS2, GB/T and NACS inlets share mounting geometry where standards allow, which simplifies body-in-white design across regional variants.

Description

The inlet is the vehicle-side half of the charging interface. It carries the same current as the coupler, but it is fixed to the vehicle and so sees road vibration, splash and temperature cycling for the life of the car.

Integrated temperature sensing at the power contacts feeds the charge controller, so current is reduced when the interface is hot rather than on a fixed schedule. Optional electronic lock with actuator feedback prevents cable removal while live and reports lock state to the vehicle.

FAQ

Do I need the electronic lock?

For DC charging, yes in practice — it prevents removal under load. For AC, a mechanical latch is usually sufficient unless the market requires otherwise.

What does the temperature sensor output?

A resistance or digital signal read by the charge controller, mapped to a derating curve supplied with the datasheet.
