Cooling concept sets the sustained power of an on-board charger. Peak ratings are easy; sustained rating at 50 °C ambient with degraded coolant flow is what engineering teams actually negotiate.
- Natural convection: lowest cost and noise, limited to low power
- Forced air: moderate power, needs filtered air path
- Liquid: highest power density, requires coolant circuit
